A picture says how many words?

They say a picture says a thousand words. Well, I don’t know if that’s true or not, but a good photographer can capture things that can’t be expressed in words.

We had a friend from work come over today to take some pictures of the girls. Morgan Turner is a professional photographer, moonlighting as an electrician. And you can certainly tell when you see these.

Time to put up more Ivy pics.

So that’s what I’m doing. I’ll update this post as I get them up on Flickr.

Ivy and Gabe, Summer 2007

Ivy and Mom, Summer 2007.  She’s outgrown her Aunt Jemima outfit now, maybe we’ll have a girl to hand it down to!

Our house before renovations, sumer 2007.  I put this up for Chelsea, so she could see what it looks like.  The outside is much the same, the inside is what counts!  But I don’t have good pics of that yet!

Same photo, about the same time, but taken in front of the lilacs.  I love lilacs, and we lucked out with a couple of nice ones, plus an awesome japanese maple tree in the front yard.

Ivy’s Super (bowl) Party!

Ivy’s second birthday party was today.  We served lots of snacks and had the plasma downstairs with the game on it in HD.  Looks good.

Ivy’s party has been a success so far, she got great presents, had good cake, and lots of fun snacks.  Oh yeah, and friends too!  Pictures forthcoming.

Solve for X

I wonder if the “ten second tidy” on Big Comfy Couch is really a good idea.  I mean, Ivy likes it, and is starting to go through her cleaning phase.  We hear lots of “Clean up, Clean up, Clean up, Clean up” when we remind her she’s made a mess.

However, Loonette the clown seems to believe that tucking everything back into the couch is a good version of a tidy. (I beg to differ)

Combine that with Ivy’s new interest in television, and interaction (Go, Diego, Go and Hi-5 are her current favourites) and you get a formula like the following:

TST+Ivy(TV + Interest x Copying+ Interacting)/Couch = X

Solve for X where TST = Ten Second Tidy

I think the only thing we’re going to get out of this is a couch full of treasures.

Ivy Picture Fulfillment (complete!)

Here are some more Ivy pics.  The ninja ones are per request of family.

Ivy with poo-bear winter gear.

Getting geared up for winter with a toque and bib.  Really!

Ivy in her Halloween Ninja gear – with mask!

Ivy in her ninja gear – sans mask.

Ivy punkin’ pickin’ with the family out at the Mufford Valley Ranch.

There!  All the ivy pictures updated.  Well, except for the Christmas ones, but they’re upcoming.  I’m also working on a couple simply youtube vids of her we took with the camera, we’ll see if they work.

Ivy Picture Request (Partial) Fulfillment

Spam Spam Spammity Spam

Mmm…Spammy goodness.

For a long time we didn’t get any spam comments on our blog.  Recently we’ve been elevated (hmm, that doesn’t sound right) to the ranks of blog spammage.

Which must mean that there are at least one or two clickthroughs per day, and that we have some random search terms showing up on google or another search engine.

Anyway – I just got the warm fuzzy toasty feeling of destroying 129 spam messages that have accrued over the last few days.   I also had one sneak through my spam filter and ask to be moderated.  However, I doubted that “Xanex Viagra ChEAp Drugs111” was a real user, and so sent them on to Akismet Spam Hell.

Hence the reason comments here are moderated.

I’m supposed to put up a picture of Ivy soon.  In a Ninja costume.  I’m going to do it too, because well, that’s just how I roll.

And Sami is going to make me a special dinner of spam with cloves and honey or something – this is a real food.  It seems fitting to eat Spam soon, so close to all our annoying spam messages.

Cheers.
